Maricopa County Launches New, Streamlined Elections Website

Maricopa County voters now have a new place to find critical elections and voter registration information — Elections.Maricopa.Gov.

The new site — supported by the Maricopa County Elections Department and Office of the Recorder — was created with voters in mind every step of the way. The site’s features include:

  • Building Trust & Continuing Transparency — Simplified navigation and a “no wrong door” design so voters don’t get lost and can quickly navigate where they need to go.
  • Consistent Voter Resources — Continued access to recent upgrades like the voter dashboard at BeBallotReady.Vote.
  • Multi-Language Immersion — A streamlined English to Spanish button in the navigation, providing easy access to critical election information in both languages.
  • Accessibility Features — The site was designed and tested to meet an AA level in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to ensure it provides accessibility for all voters.
  • Responsive Design — With voters accessing the website on different devices, this new website automatically adapts the screen size to fit everything from smartphones to big desktop screens.

“We are thrilled to launch Elections.Maricopa.Gov as part of our ongoing commitment to empower Maricopa County voters to access the services they need in a way that is best for them. The new Elections Department website does that and then some,” said Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer. “Not only does it provide voters clear pathways to prepare for upcoming elections, it also provides answers to frequently asked questions and allows residents to easily access critical voter registration and elections information. Our hope is that this website will become the one stop shop of choice for every voter in Maricopa County.”

The Recorder.Maricopa.Gov site will continue to support Maricopa County document recording customers and the recorded documents search feature for the public. All elections and voter registration pages will be redirected to Elections.Maricopa.Gov.

Over the next year, the Elections Department will continue to roll out updates to the pages that matter most to voters including Results, BeBallotReady.Vote, Request a Ballot, Voter Registration Totals, Campaign Finance and more!

All of these changes were also made with security in mind. The site is secured using a Web Application Firewall (WAF) with built-in distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) protection, along with security controls that allow voters to use the website while stopping attacks from bots or other malicious actors. When building this new site, the office also scanned all code for vulnerabilities before publishing any pages, which is a best practice in cyber security.

Just in time for the 2022 election cycle, voters can stay informed on the latest election information through the new Elections News page or subscribe to our Just the Facts newsletter.
