Experienced Voices Join Recorder's Office and Elections Department

The Maricopa County Recorder's Office and Elections Department recently welcomed former Yavapai County Recorder Leslie Hoffman to her new role as Director of Recording at the Maricopa County Recorder's Office. The county also welcomed longtime elections communication professional Matthew Roberts to serve as Communications Manager for the Elections Department.

"Both Leslie and Matt bring a wealth of experience to their respective roles," said Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer. "Leslie was one of the first people I reached out to upon taking office and her experience and advocacy for the functions of this office make her a great fit for this position."

Speaking about the addition of Mr. Roberts to the Elections Department, Recorder Richer spoke about the Communication Manager's extensive experience.

"Matt brings many years of of experience in elections communication leading the communication efforts of two Arizona Secretaries of State, and that experience will be invaluable as we continue to educate our constituents about their Elections Department."

"I'm very excited and honored to become a part of the extraordinary Maricopa County Team," said Recording Services Director Leslie Hoffman. "I fully embrace the significance in recording and maintaining the history of Maricopa County. As the Director of Recording Services, my goal is to elevate the department to new heights. I feel privileged for the opportunity to share my experience with my co-workers and the citizens of this county."

"I'm thrilled to be a part of the elections team at Maricopa County," Mr. Roberts said. "The opportunity to help make elections easier to understand as well as join the fight against misinformation is one I'm truly excited to be a part of."

Mr. Roberts comes to the Recorder's Office having previously served two different Arizona Secretaries of State in the Arizona Secretary of State's Office and the Arizona Association of Realtors, specializing in both communications and outreach.

Recording Services Director Hoffman, in addition to having served as Yavapai County Recorder for over a decade, has more than 20 years of experience in the title industry and document collection and will leverage that extensive experience to continue improving the document recording and retention practices of the Recorder's Office.
