County Ballot Measures

Maricopa County Elections is the filing officer for Initiatives, Referendums, and Recalls regarding County level issues and candidates. Pursuant to A.R.S. § 19-111(A)-(B), all applications for petitions must be filed with the County and receive a serial number before they can start circulating. 


All active applications for serial numbers filed in 2023-2024 with Maricopa County are listed below. Additionally, information regarding Proposition 479 for the 2024 General Election is available below.

Proposition 479 will appear on the 2024 General Election Ballot. Voters will also receive a publicity pamphlet prior to the start of early voting that will provide information and arguments regarding the proposed measure.

Deadline: Your argument must be submitted, and online payment must be receieved by Maricopa County Elections by 5:00 P.M. (MST) on July 16, 2024.


Fee: The fee for submitting a ballot measure argument is $25.00. Only online payment is accepted.

Refund Disclaimer: Refunds will not be issued under any circumstances once an argument has been submitted. 

Required Information: Arguments published will contain the signer's full name, city, and state of residence. There may be multiple signers per argument and if provided, we will print the signers title and organization. If an argument is sponsored by an organization, we will print the sponsoring organization or individual’s name and title. 
We will also require the submitter’s name, address, email, and phone number in case follow up is needed. 

Statement Disclaimer: The statement of support or opposition of the ballot measure shall not exceed 300 words (per A.R.S. § 19-124(A)). The argument will appear in the Publicity Pamphlet exactly as entered. Please ensure the argument contains proper spelling, capitalization, and grammar prior to submission. Formatting from text will be removed.
